Today we will share with you 3 basic tips for the proper use of your electric treadmill.
So we bought our new treadmill, assembled it and it was time for its first operation. So the first tip concerns all home treadmills and almost always refers to the instructions for use, but most users do not give it the necessary importance or attention.
What is this? One hour of continuous use! All home treadmills – and we emphasize the HOME because this feature does not apply to professionals – are designed to work continuously for up to 60 minutes. If we want to use our treadmill for more than this period of time per day, then there should be a break between our workouts for at least half an hour. We do this so that it manages to “cool” its engine and be ready for the next use.
The systematic exceeding of this limit set by all manufacturers, can lead to premature engine failures as well as unwanted damage to the electrical or mechanical parts of our treadmill. due to exceeding the usage limit, they may not be covered under the warranty so be very careful! Start.
So we have noticed many times, that many users have the bad habit of being on the surface of the mat when they start their training, as a result of which they put more resistance on the engine, when it starts.
The correct position at the start of the corridor is to the right and left of the carpet, ie on the special railings and not on it. When we press the Start button and the mat starts to move slowly, then we can press on it and start our exercise.
In this way, we give the engine the time it needs to get going, but without the unnecessary resistance of our weight. Our third and final tip for today could not be other than to lubricate the carpet properly and regularly. Lubricating the carpet is the one major maintenance procedure that needs to be repeated regularly to reduce unwanted friction and keep our treadmill in perfect condition.
The absence or, worse, the lack of lubrication of the carpet is probably the most common cause of unwanted damage and significant deterioration of the motor of our treadmill and most of its mechanical parts. Proper and regular lubrication will help extend the life of our carpet, as well as improve the feel and smooth operation of our treadmill.
